Your privacy

Privacy policy

This page explains, in plain terms, what information the site collects and how it is used. The short version: the tools themselves collect nothing, we use Google Analytics, we plan to show advertising in future, and we never sell your data.

The short version

  • The tools themselves collect nothing. Every calculator and converter runs entirely in your browser — the times, dates, and values you enter are never sent to us or stored on a server.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. That’s the only analytics/tracking on the site.
  • We plan to show advertising in future, which may use cookies. When it is live, this policy and any cookie notice will reflect it.
  • If you use the contact form, we store what you send (name, email, message) only to reply to you.
  • We never sell your data.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how 24hourto12hour.com (“we”, “us”, the “site”) handles information when you use our website and its free time tools. It applies to the site at 24hourto12hour.com. [Site owner: if a specific legal entity or country of operation applies, add it here.]

Information we collect

1. Information from the tools — none

All calculators and converters run locally in your browser. The times, dates, and numbers you type are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us or saved on a server.

2. Information you send us

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide, along with the date/time and the IP address of the request (used to help prevent spam). This is stored on our hosting account and used solely to read and respond to your message. It is not added to any mailing list.

3. Analytics data (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used in aggregate — for example, which tools are popular, which pages have problems, and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect data such as your approximate location (from IP), device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring site. This data is processed by Google; see Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out site-wide with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

4. Advertising (planned)

We intend to display third-party advertising on the site in future. Ad providers (for example, Google AdSense) may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your prior visits. When advertising is active, you will be able to learn about and control personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info. [Site owner: once you enable ads, confirm the ad network here.]

5. Server logs

Like most websites, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. These are managed by our hosting provider.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. On this site they fall into two groups:

  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure usage.
  • Advertising cookies — used by ad providers once advertising is enabled.

The tools do not require cookies to function. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators will still work. If you are in a region that requires consent for non-essential cookies (such as the EU/UK), the site should present a cookie/consent notice before analytics or advertising cookies are set. [Site owner: ensure a consent banner is in place for EU/UK visitors before enabling GA and ads.]

How we use information

  • To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
  • To understand and improve how the site and its tools are used (via aggregate analytics).
  • To keep the site secure and working (via standard logs).
  • To display advertising, once enabled.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the contents of contact messages for any purpose other than replying to you.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that make the site work:

  • Google — for analytics, and (in future) advertising.
  • Our hosting provider — which stores the site and its files, including contact-form submissions.

We may also disclose information if required by law. We never sell your data to third parties.

Data retention

Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records, and are deleted when no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s settings and policies. You can ask us to delete a message you sent us at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us through the contact page and we will respond as required by law.

Children’s privacy

This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes — for example, when advertising goes live. The “last updated” date below always reflects the current version, and material changes will be made clear on this page.
